MY STAY,

MY REVIEW.

Aroko Bungalows are found right near the popular area of Muri. It sits beachfront at the northern end of Muri beach looking out over 3 motus within the Muri lagoon.

This 3 star property in a 5 star location provides 10 bungalows, 6 with lagoon views and 4 with garden views (but always a slight view of the lagoon). These neat little studio bungalows are private, comfortable and fantastic value for money, especially for couples costing only $150 per night for 2 people in a garden bungalow.

The property has room for you to park your hire car, a garden area and a sun deck for guests to laze on while watching the slow action of Muri beach. They also have laundry facilities, a guest BBQ, kayaks and snorkel gear to use. An airport shuttle is also available if needed as Aroko is 20kms from the airport.

For those who want to save some money by being able to cook some meals, these self contained bungalows will suit with an oven and microwave in the kitchen. A separate bathroom with towels and toiletries provided. The sleeping area has a comfy mattress with bed linen supplied and each bungalow has its own little veranda.

Everything you need is only a 5 minute walk to Muri. ATM’s, car rental, shopping, bars, cafes, restaurants, a night market, water sports and activities. Muri provides some of the best eating choices in Raro including the Muri night market open 4 nights a week.

2 circle island busses drive past every half an hour going in opposite directions to get you where you want to explore other parts of Rarotonga.

Because Aroko is on the Eastern side of the Island, you’ll not only be able to watch the beautiful sunrises each morning but for a few nights each month you’ll have a great view of the full moon as it rises above the lagoon giving you more visibility of the beach at night. Perfect for a night beach stroll.

I was very happy with this choice of accommodation. It’s a lovely and quiet place to stay. Simple but with everything you need. Aroko is a terrific budget priced property due to its fantastic location. I definitely recommend these bungalows for a perfect self contained holiday in paradise.
