MY STAY,

MY REVIEW.

HIGH RECOMMENDATION...

Kura's Kabana's were a pleasant surprise. The location not only to Muri Beach which is steps away, but to shops, ATM, activities and places to eat all a few minutes walk away, it's almost the perfect location.

The 4 main Kabana's all have lagoon views and are situated at an angle on the property so each has a great view and the feeling of privacy while having a neighbour nearby. I stayed in Kabana number 1 which is the closest kabana to the beach. From the front veranda I really enjoyed my morning coffee while watching the sunrise that emerges from behind one of the motu, Oneroa. Because the sun rises on this side of the island, the lagoon is the most vivid blue or turquoise between 8am - 10am and is the best time to capture the best photo's.

At the beach area on the property steps from the kabana's is a small walk bridge to access the beach and also a communal covered area perfect for families to have dinner by the water or just lie on a sun lounge. This is also the area you'll find the kayak's, free to use while staying at the property. Paddle over to one of the motu and explore the tiny islands or go to Muri Beach via the lagoon a few hundred metres along the beach.

The Kabana's are fantastic value for a large sized studio. At around 5m wide and 10m long they are huge for 2 people. The bed and sitting area is at the front where you enter and the kitchen and bathroom are at the rear of the building. A full window and sliding glass door offer water views at the front and lead to the large veranda with a table and chairs and a day bed to relax.

Hot water was available both morning and night so no issues when needing a hot shower and the bathroom was large and modern.

The kitchen was a full sized kitchen with an oven and cooktop, fridge and all basic needs including serving trays, saucepans etc. All the things you need to cook your own meals if you wish. A perfect self-catering property.

All windows are screened and a ceiling fan is adequate cooling at night while having the ocean breeze from outside coming in the louvered windows.

The bed was very comfortable and the managers were happy to supply 2 single beds for us on request instead of the Queen sized bed. The chickens were very respectful and not too noisy in the morning but early enough so we caught the beautiful sunrises. We had a few large gecko's running around at night which was nice to see.

For only $175 per night for 2 people, it's one of my favourite properties. Location, accommodation, amenities, private and peaceful. Kura's Kabana's are a top place to stay... Did I mention great value for money at ONLY $175 PER NIGHT!!  - One of the best.
