There are approx. 4,000 dogs in Rarotonga, mostly pets but some unowned. Without these two wonderful organisations to help the animals of Rarotonga, there would be an animal crisis. If you would like to make a small donation you can do this by purchasing our photos and we will donate all proceeds to these 2 charities. If you would like to make a larger donation to either charity, please follow the links below to the organisations.

The SPCA is the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  This organisation looks after and adopts stray and neglected animals in Rarotonga. CISPCA currently have a program and goal of a mass Island de-sexing which will control the dog population. It solely relies on sponsors and donations. They have an animal shelter on the way to Wigmore's Waterfall and their headquarters are located at Punanga Nui Market in Avarua. Donate larger amounts via the link above and also at https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/cookislandsspca

The Esther Honey Foundation is a vet clinic staffed by volunteers.  This clinic provides veterinary services to all animals in Rarotonga and relies on donations to continue providing these necessary services. Without this clinic, the Island would be not only overrun with animals, but pets would miss out on any treatment needed.

While in Rarotonga, help either charity by dropping off anything to help. Supplies, dog food and other items they may benefit from and that will reduce their costs will be greatly appreciated.

Photos not added yet. They will be added over the coming year. The photos below are not mine.
